Default about to buy a 1.9 CDTi SRi 150...

    Hi everyone.

Just recently decided with the wife that its time to upgrade our e36 BMW 318iS 4 door saloon.

Anyways, we have a young son now & all the extra stuff that needs to go with a 1 year old, the 3 series boot just doesnt cut the mustard anymore.

The reason for choosing a Vectra is... it just seems to press all the buttons within a budget.

We are looking @ a spend of approx 6K, without a trade in value. (probably just keep the 3 series sat on the drive as a backup car if it's ever needed)

I think silver is the colour for a Vectra IMHO, so that's what we will be looking for.

It has to be a facelift model aswell, so 2005 onwards if I'm correct?

So, I have been looking around the forum before registering (just now) & see the debate about the 120 vs 150 CDTi engined cars.

I see that the 150 has its problems, as most people own that engineed car over then 120 version.

I have managed to sumise that a 150 needs to be obtained with a warranty thats going to cover the 'weak' areas, EGR vale, swirl, etc...

Anyways, just wanted to pop my head in & say what's up everyone

    Cheers,
    Pete.

    Pete.

Great choice with the CDTI 150....but as you said, try to stick with one that has some warranty or at least have some confirmation that the work has been carried out.

    Other than that, cracking motor's.

Have fun and enjoy the forum!
