    Unhappy how are my calipers meant to dry in the rain!?!?!?!?

    stupid rain will not cease!!! I stopped painting at 9am today and at precisely 9:12 it hammered with rain and i was out there getting wet bagging up the calipers!! its currently 14:19 and still it rains and still my calipers arent dry!!!!! i need the car tomorrow morning HELP!!!!!

    What did you use to paint them mate? Hammerite?

    yep hammerite smooth in silver to match the car!?! will a hairdryer help??

    As long as the paint has gone 'tachy' to the touch then they will be fine mate. I ended up doing mine in the rain and it wasen't a problem. They will definatly be fine in the morning

    Hammerite iirc is a synthetic enamel, the best way to dry this type of product is with a good flow of air, i.e. leave them somewhere well ventialted but dry, a hair drier will speed things up a little but too much heat will dull the finish.

    cheers lads, needed the reassurance still havent got the new rims on yet, why doesnt it stop raining!!! really should have checked the weather before taking the day off haha

    cheers for the info fella so if i run a hairdryer on cool air it should dry them faster!!?!?! just try not to zap myself in the rain!

    Give it a few minutes mate and it should stop raining. It's stopped raining here in Huntingdon so should be clear around Cambridge pretty shortly

    didnt realise you were so close mate im not technically in cambridge in a lil village nearby but no-one knows where unless i use a big city haha but as i write the rain has stopped!! mayby time to break out the hair dryer or what about leaf blower????
