    Default Xbox Wireless LAN Adaptor

My son has decided he now wants his xbox in his bedroom, instead of our living room. I dont fancy running a cable right through the house so he can get on to xbox live. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of the wireless adaptors? i assume they are adequate for all his usuall online gaming? Also if anyone has one for sale or know where i might get a good deal on one i would be most obliged.

I don't personally like wireless networks, as they are not as secure, fast or reliable as a good old cable.

I wanted to use my Xbox to stream videos, music and slideshows from my PC as wells as connecting to Live, so I went down the route of a Home Plug for mine.

Assuming you have a spare ethernet port on your hub/router, for about £40, you can get a pair of Home Plugs. Plug one into the router/hub, and one into the XBox and away you go.

No drop-outs, no messing with WEP keys, and a faster connection.

EBuyer or Dabs will stock these for a reasonable price.

yep they work - just make sure that its plugged directly into the wall socket and not an extention as this will cause problems with signal loss

They work really well, I got some of those included with the BT vision box, they are as quick as a wired connection, ours worked just as well even though they were connected on 2 seperate ring mains (upstairs Sockets and downstairs sockets) and at that price you can't go wrong, broadbandstuff.co.uk do lots of them as well..

I think you can buy external wireless adapters that just plug into the Ethernet NIC and are generally cheaper than the VERY overpriced MS USB wireless adapter.
