    Default Flat spot!

    Hi all,

I have the fabled 1.9CDTi 150 and have found that when under hard acceleration, the car seems to bog down and "stall" at about 2000rpm and occasionally again at 2600rpm. It's like the engine has taken a breath or that the turbo is clearing it's throat before spinning up again and going strongly.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Oh, and the EGR valve was replaced about 8 months ago so I sincerely hope it's not that!

Short answer - no. But I will do asap.

    Any other possible causes?

Could it not just be turbo lag?

No, it happens when the turbo is spooled up and pushing hard. It's as though there is a distinct plateau in the torque curve before it goes up again.
