    confused Throttle Issues

    Hi All,

We have a 2004 corsa c. 1800 (Which the missus' drives)
We have had an on going issue with the throttle, i.e. car jerks, or jus takes and AGE to pick up and respond!

VX has said it 'could' be either, throttle pedal or ECU issues. They cant say which one will cure the issues.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? What are peoples thoughts?

    Ta muchly as always!

    Ian.

(Sorry admin if this is in the wrong place)

Yep. I had excatly the same on my siggy a few months back. To start with I thought it was the turbo, then vauxhall had it for 11 days in total but couldn't find the problem. Took it to a independant vx specialist and they found the problem within 40 mins. basically the ecu would of been around the £700 mark to change and a replacement pedal was £35 from the scrappy so i went with the latter and bingo, it was the pedal. You can get your ecu checked tho. HTH

My other car. 1972 1641cc slammed beetle. On the road finally!!

The throttle pedal should be an easy one to diagnose, the fault code will be something along the lines of open circuit at throttle position sender on the fault memory. Fail on that put a new one on to see if it solves the problem if not put it back in the parts department.

I think there at it most of the time.
