handbrake recall completed

to my car to squire furneax in houghton regis today to have the handbrake spring recall completed,, they also gave a complimentary visual health check.. and all the green boxes came back ticked well happy.. they also said i can have a free brake test in december lol think they want some business.. she also asked when i had my last service think she was pushing for more business on that front too but it was done six weeks ago so there there is 40% front pads left any ideas how many miles that will last???

depends on how hard you drive...
wouldn't hurt to check every 3 months to assess the wear rate.

something to do with the car rolling off on hills i think, sometimes fails

it's the fitment of a small spring to the handbrake lever to stop it from self releasing and yes it was a recall

I had the same health check after handbrake recall, told me front & back brakes worn 80%. Had brakes inspected by a mechanic I know, told me brakes only half worn if that. Plenty of miles left. Get them checked before handing harded earned over to the dealer.

Can someone get details of chassis numbers and is there anyway of checking if mine has been done. Anything to look for on car. There is a sticker on drivers side sunvisor about applying handbrake without pressing button.

The recall was for ALL Vectra 'C's and Signums irrespective of age or chassis number. The sticker was sent out to all registered keepers as an interim measure before the recall was announced.

do i just go into my local vaux dealer and say i want it cheacked? cause i'm not sure if ours has been done or not?
