    Default 2.2 16v to 1.9 cdti

Hi all, been a while since i last posted but I decided today to start thinking about getting a new car. I currently have an 03 2.2 16v sri vectra and have been pondering about getting a 1.9 sri 150 o6/o7 ish, is it worth the upgrade? I`m currently spending about £70 a week on petrol and averaging between 28-35 mpg...... usually closer to 30 tho. Would it be worth changing it for fuel/ tax reasons if say i was to keep it for 2 years? Or is the 2.2 a better car.
TBH I`m starting to think my pre facelift is begining to look dated but maybe thats just the voice in my head telling me to get a new car. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I used my 1.9 SRi 150 for commuting on NSL dual carriageway, with lots of roundabouts, which could be described as fast stop-start

I used to get 48-50mpg out of it, without trying to be economical - I think my average fill-up was around £50-55 every 10-14 days, depending where I'd been. I think you'd see the difference on your weekly fuel bill.

Mine is good on long journeys, it can touch 40mpg but not often. Its whenever i go into a town/ city it just seems to evaporate

I travel alot too, Went from a 2.2 Petrol, to a V6 an now a CDTi 150 and love it.

I do around 500 miles a week and get around 620 miles to the tank. Lowest Ive had is 550 so you cany go wrong...

You'll get better MPG and a tax of about 150 squid, but obviously you'll have to spend a few grand changing the car - so changing it just for the economy is literally a false economy...

If you do want to change the car though, then the 1.9 is a good choice for the mileage you're doing, and you'll love the torque on the motorway...
