Unhappy All 4 windows going down on their own

    Hi Guys,

I really need some help here. My wife's Vectra 04 CDXI's power windows are playing up. The problem is when she returns to the car from a day's work the window are half down or all the way down. Has anyone had this sort of problem and does any one know how to fix the problem.

    Thanks.

She will be pressing the keys in her bag mate. If you hold unlock the windows will open. Then after a couple of minutes if the drivers door hasn't been opened the car locks itself with the windows down. If you have the sight and light pack and it rains the windows will go up by themselves to stop the car getting wet.

Unless it's mine, then previously closed windows will open and you wake up in the morning with soggy seats! Twice.

I know for a fact the second time it happened it wasn't down to the keyfob being pressed.

Whether it's a coincidence or not but I was advised to unplug the wiring from each of the doors and ensure all the contacts are clean; it hasn't happened since.

it's not the keyfob. i think it's the module that controls all the windows and that sits behind the dash somewhere.

This is a sign that the keyfob module has failed
If the car is under warranty then book it in, if not then order a replacement key

The key itself will still open the car and start the car, but once you get out of the car the module within the car then becomes confused, and for some reason opens the windows
Apparently this is a safety measure in case persons are accidently locked in the car
