Default Just bought an EGR valve for the CDTI 150

Guy's, I have just bought a used EGR Valve off the bay, the description reckons "ITS HAD A VX REWORK ..... THE VX REWORK IS TO STOP THE EGR VALVE STICKING INTERNALLY WHICH CAUSES POOR ACCELERATION, POOR STARTING AND THE DPF BLOCKING".

Never heard of a Vx rework, so lets leav it to chance....what you think?

£25.00 ......... hope its the answer to the problems!

Its in the how2's on here. The Vx rework is to remove the solenoid clean and grease up the internals and refit it.

Sounds like a decent buy. I read somewhere that VX have introduced a modified gasket design which allegedly reduces the EGR from getting sooted up so much. May be worth fitting the new type gasket when you come to swap it over.

Its not a Vx gasket, its actually Fiat's so you'd need to get it from there.

I asked this question before but no body has tried it so im a bit cautious about being the guinea pig!! Unless anyone can come forward and confirm they have tried it?

I've seen one or two of these being offered with new EGR valves on Ebay in the past. From what I read they have just made the openings smaller so that I assume it recycles less gasses, thereby reducing the frequency that it needs cleaning. IOW they are using the gasket material to partly block off the ports a wee bit.

TBh I thought you could get these modified one's from your VX dealer. (but I may be wrong)
