    Question Warranty Work

I've just taken my 53 plate Signum with less than 18K to the main stealer to get what sounds like a wheel bearing problem sorted out under warranty. They said that even if it is a warranty fix, I'll have to pay for the investigation work.

I'd expect this if they found out it was something that wasn't covered under warranty, but surely if it is proved to be a warranty problem I shouldn't have to pay anything? Or am I being naive?

If it's proved to be a warranty problem you won't have to pay the inspection fee.

Go to another dealer matey, as they don't all charge for this.

Don't stand for this at all mate. Politely but firmly stand your ground. This kind of 'service' is a disgrace.

Its this kind of service that gives them a bad name ,some dealers are great some are terrible .You would think they should all have standard rules when it comes to warranty work.
    Try another dealer mate.

I'm going to try the argument, "It's not my responsibility to diagnose the problem so I don't see why I should pay" approach and see how I get on.

Anyway, I told them it was one of the rear wheel bearings when I booked it, so I can't see there is much investigation to do.

    Wish me luck!
