    Default New Headunit Fitted

Well i've now got my new head unit fiited, and tbh for the price it's a lot better than i thought it would be. it pokes out of the centre a bit further than i'd like but it has to for the pop up screen....never mind (the sacrifices we make eh?)

    Here's a couple of pics

With regards to the sticking out - make sure it hasnt got a little rubber stopper at the back. The rubber is to stop it falling too far in on some cars and can usually be unscrewed

I had the same 720 in my old pre face, great wee head unit for the price, I loved how it plays mp3s from a DVD, loads of albums on 1 DVD ... still got it in a cupboard, not put it in my new vec.

    Thats nice mate :-)
Im also looking for an upgrade to the standard boring head unit stereo.
Do you lose the functionality from the steering wheel controls when you change heads? or is there certain brands that are compatible and retain the remote controls?
PS how come your still wearin pyjamas at nearly quarter to 8 in the evening?

Cool head unit! What happens to the little screen in the background once you fit an after market unit? Does it still show basic data or go completely blank?

Provided the headunit has the function, you should be able to get a converter and remote patch lead, though the steering well button functions might change a little. (Obviously volume was still volume )

On mine, when the stereo is off, normal data shows, when the stereo is operating, the date disappears but time and temp remain
