Default New to site and bringing problems

Been a member a while on vectra-sport forum and it was suggested to try this site with a few probs. Had a look and it seems a few members have had similar problems

    1) Gearbox graunches from first to second and is pretty notchy, especially when cold, been into vx stealers once and the work they did lasted about a day till it felt the same again. New box required? Whats the next step, give them another chance or push for a new box?

    2) Handbrake lever ratchet keeps jumping off, parts been on order over 3 weeks, are they takeing a lend?

    Thanks in advance

    Looks a great site!

    Just as phil say's..

the handbrake could well have taken 3 weeks..I've been waiting 3 months for a service exchange radio/cd.. You could try asking another dealer if it's in stock with them or if it's genuinly on back order at Toddington Road,Luton ( the main UK spares hub)

If another dealer has it they can do a stock transfer..many won't even bother to check other dealer groups.

rachet problem is starting to become common. I had the problem only after 4,000 miles and whole assembley had to be replaced. Then it did it again. This time a stroppy note went to VXL and its now being looked into.

    Welcome to the Site !
I had exactly the same Gearbox problem with a previous Vectra.
Took it in they did "something" it was Ok for about a week and then back to the grinding and crunching.
After three attempts I stuck out for a new box which I duly got. Still was going OK eighteen months later when I sold it

Going to give them one more chance then push for a new box, got plenty of ammo of this site and vectra-sport.com. Still waiting for handbrake ratchet but told them i want box looking at when it goes back in. Cheers for the info
