Default Inlet manifold on Vectrc C cdti

    Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 CDTi 150 which has been getting the spanner light coming on every time I go over 60 mph, I had the engine checked and found the bar that runs across the swirl valves had come away.

Is there any way to repair that rather than have to replace the whole inlet manifold??

If the manifold does npeed repalcing, is there anything else that needs changing along with it at the same time???

I tried the suggested repair but as soon as the engine was revved, the rod flew off again.

I ended up having to replace the inlet manifold along with the actuator motor at a cost of £500 inc fitting.

Car is working fine now, better performance and no light...but it does still seem to judder at about 30ish when between 1500-2000 revs.

I don't think it is the egr valve because i have cleaned that out so i'm wondering wheter it is the throttle control??

    There is a How2 .... When get a chance i'll have a nose.

Been quoted £485 for new manifold .... the ball joints are very badly worn on mine with the holes on the Bar being almost worn to the edges.

I was quoted £400 inc vat for manifold from local VX dealer but i managed to get it at trade - 10% off.

Problem is that if you change manifold the motor also needs changing - bumping up the cost!!

I gave Chris my spare manifold

reson the bar usually breaks off is the swirl valves get clogged and jam. If you remove and clean the manifold and then refit the bar it may be fine but it's a big job. On chris' the swirl valve was actually moving in the housing and leaking pressure so the manifold had to be changed.

It's a big job to remove the manifold so read up if you are going to do it yourself.
