    Default Time for plan b

Had some spare time since the kids are away at the outlaws, so I decided to fit a rear power socket in the boot.
Removed the side panel to get a look at the rear fuse box so I could find a permanent 12V. Plenty of spare fuse ways and permanent 12V however the fuse ways have no sockets..... what a pain in the bottom . Would mean removing the fuse box and some soldering, not going to happen on a new company car.

Oh well, plan b, run feed from battery compartment to the boot, that's for another day.

Maplins do a nice little socket.......
Take out a fuse, put the adapter in and put the fuse into the adaptor, then wire to the adaptor.

Had though about getting a piggy back connector from maplins, but a quick prod with the meter shows that most of the permanent lives are fed via the bigger squareish 30A fuses and I don't think the piggy backs fit those.
It seems that most of the others are "switched" via can.

Not sure about dismantling the fuse panel to add some extra sockets as it's a company car. Though I might have a look to see what bits are needed to do the job.

Well had some time today (thanks to being called out in the early hours ). There's a pin in one of the empty plug sockets which is a permanent live, big enough to fit a red spade onto .
Still thinking about whether to take the fuse box apart or to run from the battery.
