    Default replacement shocker

Havent done a VXR but changed the springs on a DTI.

Assuming they are very similar then the strut and hub unit can be sepparated without having to split CV joints or break calipers.

I had great difficulty loosening the nut at the top of my strut. The only way I could shift the nut was to hit it with an air-driven impact driver. Just a couple of short squirts until the nut moved but don't loosen it totally as you need to compress the springs. I did it with the struts still in the car and only then did I remove the struts and compress the springs.

The job is very straight forward if you have the knowledge and the tools. Failing that see if you can get a local mechanic to do it. Should only be about an hour or two labour and certainly a lot safer.

BE WARNED --- IF A SPRING SLIPS AND GOES FLYING IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE AND INJURY, EVEN DEATH.
