Default Which Engine Should I Go For?

Been after a Veccy C for ages, wanted either the 1.8 or 2.2 Petrol.

But after finding out the missus was pregnant the savings for the new motor disapeered...

Anyway, looking to get one in the a few months but decideded on a Diesel...

    But which one?

Also looks like its Definalty going to be the SRI. Does anyone have any links on the full SRI spec, and any other decent models like the ELITE etc. just to compare...

    Cheers?

    Cheers for the parkers info...

And i should have said i'm being picky. def going to be a silver hatchback too

I'm swaying, or being pushed to get the 150ps. missus moans about tax and fuel etc. but if the 3.0 is better, not just in performance but reliability etc i'll go with that... then there's the bullet proof 120ps. and 2.2 dti... too much choice ha

Had my 2.2dti for 4 yrs now and love it. Nothing major gone wrong only pulley wheel which is normal for vecs. Also rear shocks again normal. Loads off power and average 50mpg. Also plenty off pulling power for my caravan.

Buy the 1.9 150...DEF FABULOUS Engine...amazing power when you want it..but drive it normally youll get MEGGGGGA POWER..i havnt had a 3.0d myself but iv heard that they ant MUCH difference between the two..and anyways you could tune the 150 to about 180-190 bhp so it would be equally as fast as the 3.0..

Yes but the 150 is not the most reliable, in fact its the least reliable in the whole vectra range!

Go for the 3.0 CDTi. You won't be disappointed by its reliability, and if you're careful, economy. If it goes wrong you will be cursing it long and hard though...repair bills are astronomic!
The 2.2DTi is a fine tractor. We're on our 3rd DTi now. The first one was a 2.0 and apart from the airflow sensor it was perfect, the second is our Signum and apart from the little boost hose niggles it's fabulous. And my Vec B SRi was great too. Don't go for the automatic version because that drinks more fuel than a manual 3.0
