    Default Box changing effect

can any one advise me when you change the setting on a tunning box does it take effect straight away or does it take time to "bed" in or what?

    Thanks

The changes will be hard to notice. You'll just have to take the box suppliers word for it that there is actually a difference at all.

I agree, by experience I am now very sceptical of tuning boxes and what "they say on the tin" - I would imagine that (if you had the car rolling roaded before and after) the difference would be minimal.

I learned the hard way too mate, which is why I gave you the advice I did before - I have looked into the remaps on offer and found that a good one can be had for £330 - so its not that much more than a box (infact cheaper than some)

I tell you, boxes are too crude to give any kind of mpg increases

the funny thing is when i do runs and i manually calc it and it shows good mpg, but when done over the full amount its awfull!
im just scared tht a remap would effect a claim on my external warranty (warranty direct) encase they detect the change..
wheres the best, cheapest remap place mate, im gonna contact them.
    thanks bud

They have got wise to these things!

Anything that will stop them from paying out thousands of pounds on engine parts will be gone over with a fine tooth combe.Someone I know was left with a bill for thousands because it was proved that their ECU was "not to manufacturers standard specification".

I had myself thought about a remap until I found this out,and the thought of running around with an invalid warranty on a V6 Isuzu diesel is just too horrible to think about.

Every car with no warranty is terrible, not just the V6 Isuzu. It's a fine unit, very reliable. I believe my problems are just the consequence of bad diesel fuel.
