Default Newbie - New SIGNUM on it's way!!

    Hi all
Newbie here - so be gentle!

I'm collecting a new (well, new to me) Signum Design 1.9-CDTi (150) next week. It's a nice motor: 57-plate with just 11k miles, with more kit than Madonna's bedside drawer.

I took it for a test drive and thought it drove surprising well - as good as other quality cars, and every bit as good as my Passat. Even my girlfriend enjoyed driving it - but that said, she is more of a man than me, and instantly noticed the advatages of having plenty of room on the back seats (for picnics of course!)

I've had to kiss goodbye to my 07-plate VW Passat 2.0-TDi (140) with DSG and 30k miles, because it was running like a B&Q shed, and getting on my nerves - it must have been a 'Friday car' because it had more issues going on than Michael Jackson's doctor. I fancied replacing the VW with something as new as possible, with low mileage, lots of room inside, decent kit, and a good long-distance motorway cruiser etc.

I'm aware that the Signum was never a raving success story for Vauxhall, but that ended up working in my favour as I've now got a £21k car for just £10k, and in fairness, I actually like the shape and style of the car. I daren't sell it for a while though, because the depreciation is savage, and in 6 months time, it will be worth the less than an empty packet of KP nuts.

I was impressed with the rear seating arrangement - it's the first car that I've owned where I actually want to sit in the back, and pretend to be a poor relation of Alan Sugar! The problem is, my arms and legs aren't long enough to reach the steering wheel or pedals, so it looks like I'll still end up driving from the front after all!

I look forward to using the forum in the future, so feel free to say hi and keep in touch!

    Cheers!!

Nice BUG you got there mate - I used to have a '72 BUG Karmann cabriolet LHD - drop me a line and I'll send pics if you're interested. It wasn't customised or modified too much - it was kept original where possible. Ended up selling it to a bloke in Scotland
