Default Is it possible to adjust Auto Headlights

Does anybody know if it's possible to adjust the lighting level at which Auto Headlights switch on?

My previous Vectra's switched on alot lower lighting level than my current one, so wasn't sure if it was a variable that could be adjusted with Tech 2

Sorry did a search originally but had no luck, just tried again and found one thread. Looks as if the answer is no.

Noticed however there are two types of sensor one for green tinted windscreen and one for infra red (or UV) windscreen anybody know how to tell which windscreen is fitted.

Gonna atempt to clean sensor as well.

    Vehicle : Vectra

Nothing on tech2 to set for the autolight sensor. But I noticed on my replacement windscreen on the SRi that the centre of the sensor part is dark, and my headlights play up something rotten, they need need direct sunlight pointing at them to turn off! But with the elite, (same sensor) the replacement windscreens sensor bit in the middle is clear, so the sensor can see the light properly and that works fine.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

Mine's an elite and as you say it is clear where the sensor fits, previously i had a design and i'm sure that was darker so maybe that's the problem and I now have a sensor which works correctly in the dark and

Hi - not sure if this helps, but I've previously owned a couple of cars with auto-headlights, and I asked the manufacturers if it was possible to adjust the sensitivity settings so that the lights came on earlier - both Volkswagen and Renault said NO it wasn't possible. I had more chance of sniffing the top of a bottle of Grolsch with George Best than getting the light settings changed.

In the end, I had to really put myself out, and reach all the way down to the dashboard- and make use of my worn out muscle tissues in my right arm, then flick the light switch on manually. The most annoying thing was that I had to do it all again in reverse order every time I got home - but it's not all bad news - I've regained most of the use of my right arm!
