    confused changing my head unit for a dvd player

    i have been told i will loose my trip display even tho it can be controled from the steering wheel im in a facelift 1.9 sri cdti cd30 any thoughts

    I think it will still work for fuel and miles settings through the wheel, you will lose the station name and iirc it's best to get an adaptor to make the thing remember where it last stopped £10, and an ariel booster if you wanna hear Steve Wright in the afternoon.

    As VV said, you will lose the radio station, but most other things will be there, and you can still change the computer using the steering wheel controls, if you want to use the controls also for the new stereo then an adapter is needed

    Some makes of Hu will still give you all the functions mate, like radio station, track number........ Think its only HU's like Sony and Alpine though.

    thanks guys this helps just hope i can get the darn old 1 out now grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr star drives and small screw drivers dnt work looks like a trip 2 halfords

    if you take the silver strip off that runs from passenger vent to middle ones it just pulls off, then there is 4 t20 torx screew holdin the middle air vents and screen on just take out then gives you access from top too, i just use 5m allen keys mate but halfords sell the proper removal tool but so does ebay dirt cheap
