    Default Fitting Dashmount - Help!!

    Hi
trying to fit a dashmount around the heater control area, I've popped the heater control out with no problems (using a gap opener on the left edge) but I cannot get the storage tray to pop out the same way, and advice on where i should be trying to get it out from, is it the left, the top, bottom or right???
I admit to being a bit light handed with it but the heaters popped out with no problems

My dash mount only requires the heater controls out. To get the coin tray out, put your fingers right to the bottom of it and try and lift it from the back first, this should unclip it and it will slide out HTH.

well as an update, thanks to the help here I managed to get the storage tray out as well (pushed it over the cig lighter and ashtray) popped the heater controls out but even having a print out of the instructions with me cannot get the dashmount to locate. Haven't a clue what I am doing wrong, I've fitted loads of the Brodit ones to various cars without any issues, so I am assuming this one was for pre facelifts and something small has changed on the facelifts or I'm just not confident enough to use enough force.

So if anyone wants a dashmount for the heater control area its all your for a small contribution towards P&P (about £3) - I'm off to buy a Brodit one!

yeah this is the metal dashmount one I have. Is the Brodit one a good fit? I'm mounting a Brodit ipod holder on it, just thinking about passengers knees giving it a knock. I've already got the drivers window vent in use with a brodit mount and the centre console one looks like it would block the nav screen view so thats the only place I have left to fit one

Glad you managed to get the heater console out. I was amazed how easy it came out and even more amazed that there was enough space behind the panel to take the handsfree control unit. I ended up fitting a brodit console jobbie. Really simple to fit once you figure out what needs to go where and how to wiggle it into place.

I didn't peel the backing off the sticky stuff because I'm not sure about it yet. With the phone holder mounted, it seems to get in the way of the knob to direct the airflow. Does the dashmount cause the same problem ?

Probably a bit early to say it really irritates me, but if the dashmount isn't so close to the control knob, it might be the next option
