Default It appears Ive been conned by my dealers

My car has ALWAYS been services by VX, my dealership is Hutchings HQ.

When i bought the car it was 1 year old so had 2 years warranty left.

Its now 3 1/2 years old. So i've had 2 major services done by Hutchings VX and 2 interim services (fitlers and oil)

Now its out of waranty, my best mate owns a garage and he orders the genuine VX parts so i though I'd go to him for a major service ahead of an RR day.

About a week ago, the car develpoed a miss fire with the map on under peak torque. I did some research and found that it was the spark plugs giving out under the higher boost of the remap. No problem, full service by my mate will solve this. new plugs and regap them.

He's had the car all day today and the spark plugs are a major job on the Vectra VXR as the manifold etc has to come off to allow access to the some of the spark plugs.

My mate takes everything off and is shocked to find that the fuel filter is almost rusted through, the pollen filter can no longer be called a filter as its so caked in gunk, the air filter is ****ed and worst of all, in his opinion the spark plugs have not been changed for a VERY long time. As the plugs are now so old, is hardly surprising that the remap (which went on 3-4 months ago) has pushed them too far.

I have stamps in my service booket showing that these parts have been changed when they clearly havent as on some of the filters my mate took off, they have "date last changed August 2006" printed on them!!!!!!!!

Needless to say im fuming and I now have all these parts in a bag to show VX and Hutchings. As I said, I have paid Hutchings for 2 major and 2 interim services which in cash is about £500-£600 and it loks like all they have changed is the oil.

I suppose im wanting to know what steps to take next.

    any ideas?

PS All modifications done to the car were done AFTER the warranty had expired

I would definitely take it up with the dealer however I am sure they will do everything they can to wriggle out of it. how long ago did the dealer last "service" it?

Nothing left for the dealer to "sort", just demand a full refund of all your monies.

Just to clarify, i do have the seperate invoices that show me being charged for air filters etc, which obviously have not been changed.

Ive contcted Trading Standards and they have said its a criminal offence. They have charged me for somehting they havent done, twice. The air filter taken out today had a fitted date written on it of 2006!!

If as part of a service, they didnt change an air filter, twice, and they have charged me for it, twice. What more proof is there?

Happens all to often mate. My dad paid Ford to do his service on his Fiesta and they never once changed the rear drum brake shoes!!! thwey offered him a free service!! He didn't take them up on their offer.
My mates dads Nissan was dealer serviced and never even had the oil changed!!! Set of crooks. I've started to mark all my components up with tippex so i can see that certain things have been done. i only ever get 2 services from the main dealer. 1st and second year to keep warranty up. fortunately niether of my cars are new enough for warranties so my mate services them for me for £50 each!!! Plus he works for Ford so i get a dealer stamp which looks nice in the book.

you dont need more proof bud you need to get down there and speak to the service manager and inform him you have been to trading standards and that they are very willing to take this case on andyou want your money back, what was the milege between services??
