    Vehicle : Opel Signum

    Trim : Sport

    Engine : 3.0 CDTI

    Year : 12/03

Default No throttle response on 3.0CDTi

If when looking around a car park for example, letting the engine pull you around in 1st gear I depress the clutch and try to rev the engine a bit whilst still moving, it wouldn't budge much even under full thorttle! If I do it 3-5times it will eventually start to rev normally.

    What could be the problem?

Maybe the pedal box is on its way out?

As Big Sig suggested this sounds like your pedal box or to be more precise your throttle position sensor is on the way out.

They can be cleaned carefully with sucess (did it on a 1.8 Sri Astra G) as long as you are gentle and delicate in your mechanic skills.

I would also suggest a trip to the dealer or reputable mechanic to clear down any fault codes before trying to clean it.

A new throttle position sensor is expensive - try car parts connexion http://www.carpartsconnexion.com and see if there is one going cheaper from a main dealer.

    Hope this helps.
