is 24.8 mpg bad for a 53 2.0Tsri, i dont drive fast i try not to go over 4000rpm i used to drive the rest of my cars fast but with my vec i love just cruising in it,
i know it's due a service but can a service realy be that important to the mpg,
what other things could be giving me such crappy mileage

First off i'd check your fluid levels, air filter and tyre pressure.

No it isn't bad, it's about average, if you want a car that does 40mpg buy an Astra CDTi, and even then it's not a certainty, you have a tuned 2000cc engine with a turbo on it, the only time you could say it's a few miles light is if you spend 90% of your time at 60mph, and even then a low 30 would be about right.hth.
