    Default Aftermarket car warrenty!!

Has anyone taken out a warrenty to cover breakdowns on their car?
Been looking at Tesco they have a plan in place that will get your car repaired for any problem countless times a year, up to £3000 per claim. my 05 CDTI Sri was quoted £199 per yr or £16.60 per month, seems good, what do you guys think about these???

Plenty of threads going, about the Tesco warranty. Do a search for "Tesco" and "warranty" and you'll find them mate. HTH.

Not my type of thing. The way i look at it is if something goes wrong it usually costs less than £200 to fix. Very rare for important components to break. Thats the chance i take.
But my fatherin law has always used these types of warrantys. He certainly saved himself some money as his Citroen Xantia needed the suspension spheres changing (Hydralic suspension) and this job was quoted at £800. He had lots of probs with the Xantia but it certainly saved him lots of money in repair bills. His was with the AA. Just double check what is actually covered. The AA tried saying the Spheres weren't covered but they (fortunately) had it in writing on there paperwork that it was. Plus as a car ages they sometimes remove items covered.

Picking up a Vectra Elite Estate 1.9 CDTI (150) on Tuesday and just arranged warranty through Warranty Direct got an internet quote of £345 for their Extracare cover for 12 months then phoned them up and got it down to £300 until October 2010 with £50 excess and claim limit to the value of the car. After looking at a few different forums they seemed to have a good write up, but you never know until you claim. Can also use any repairer i want, stealer or independent and they'll cover all labour costs.

Ive just taken vauxhall extended warranty @ £399 for 12mths on my 2.8t 250 elite. Was lot cheaper than most of others I searched plus don't have the hassle of having to pay myself then claim from warranty like I know warranty direct do....

Are you sure you didn't mean to say 24 months? Ive just got the 12 month for £199 from the stealers, the 24 month one is £399. I asked about this, as it's £1 cheaper to buy 2 lots of 12 month.

EDIT: Just read it again and you've got the 2.8t
