    Default any bird watchers out there?

    can anyone tell me what this is? Spotted in my garden this afternoon.

    It's about the same size as a blackbird.

    no idea bud but it looks like it could be a pet exotic type bird looks like a really nice day there its rainin here

    i'm no bird expert, but I also don't think that's a native british bird. Probably will end up in a hawk's belly in no time, unfortunately for the bird.

    Bit stumped on this one, first glance i would agree with red headed woody, but on second glance the beak seems to small and the head is only partially covered with red. Possibly a juvenile but they tend to have a brown / mottled plumage (think ugly duckling type thing).

    Whatever it is, its a grand spot, well done!

    I too am no ornathologist. But in all my years I have not seen one of them "in the wild". It is far too exotic for this country. It most likely has got out of someones house.
