    Default Disconnect battery?

    Hi all,

I need to remove my car radio (CDR 2005). Problem is that I don't have the code but have been told it should be behind the actual radio. So is it safe for me to just remove the radio, not actually unplugging it, without disconnecting the battery so i can verify the code is in fact there?

Also IF the code is there, do I have the disconnect the battery before I unplug the radio, or can I just unplug it while battery is still connected?

    Cheers

Just take it out. You'll be able to read the code with it plugged in.

Yea, if you pull it out it unplugs, it only takes 5mm and its unplugged. From what I remember the code is not on the stereo back. If you don't have the car pass (little card in car wallet) then just go to the dealer, a nice one might not charge you.

The radio is actually a reconditioned unit the previous owner told me and said that its code was written on the back of the stereo by whoever he bought it. Well I did this yesterday not knowing it would immediatly disconnect . Took it out and thankfully it was written there!! Phew!

Now time to try the Aux mod
