Injury at work

I know this has nothing to do with motoring but thought to ask here about rights , if anyone knows ?

My wife has had a very nasty fall in work due to an unknown substance on the floor , taken to hospital in ambulance later discharged . Is she entiled to any sort of compensation .

Just thought to ask maybe someone would know ?

I beleive that the company who she's works for will have Company Liability Insurance.

If the substance on the floor wasn't noticed or any sign put out, she should be able to claim on their insurance. It depends what is wrong with her and if she is having any time off work.

She is off work at present by Dr. request . Severe bruising to the back .

I'm surprised her boss didn't tell her to claim. It's not going to cost him / her a penny.

What sort of company? Does she have a H&S officer? if so contact him an explain what happened plus the injuries.
Is she a member of a trade union? if so might be worth having a word there too.

With H&S law now the person who spilt the liquid could be jointly liable as well, did she fill out the accident book and an hsaf form as she would need these for a claim??

Gather evidence, ie, any witnesses that can verify that the substance was present, entered into accident book (most important), photo of any bruising, Doctors report if necessary (although this will probably be sorted within any claim procedure)
