Accident Advice

Hi all,

Unbelieveable!!! the OH parked the car outside a church half on the curb half off. some complete Bar-steward has clipped the car and not even stopped all the passanger side wind and font bumper is scratched down to the white plastice underneath!!!

looking at new wind and front bumper not sure if I should go through the insurance or get it fixed, any one any rough guesses as to the cost involved in getting a new wing and front bumper.

there are no shops in the area to with cctv only down the road but no point in asking as I wouldnt be able t tell which car did it.

Car is a Vectra C 57 plate SRI Nav in sapphire black. any advice is most welcome.

it was onlyyesterday I was in asda waiting outside and some rather large lady in a clapped out Escort smashed her car dor into a 58 plate merc and just walked in. if the driver had come out before i was going i would have told him what she done. these people have no respect for others property! I hope one day someone does it back to them!!

Same thing it will cost a bit to get it all done to a good standardi would be on the look out for a car with damage and black paint then take a baseball bat to their car and run off hehehe

Should imagine your looking at a few hundred. Spray will be about £160 and then the bumper/wing

I'm not selling sorry, guna put it through the insurance Monday and hopefuilly get it back all shinny and new.

I like the baseball bat idea and it I knew who done it I would take it to them!!! I hope they get hit by a bus!!

Sorry to hear this as happened to u. Just happened to me, but mine not that bad. Just still not the point, people should own up to it.

Sorry to hear this, some people just dont care at all, and sadly it seems to be the norm these days. Sounds like a insurance jobbie to me, but best not mention you were parked half on the pavement.

I remember a couple of years ago while waiting for the wife in the local Tesco carpark, 4 young recruits from the local Weaton Barracks pulled into a space in front of me, and in the process they hit the adjacent ford focus damaging its front bumper and paintwork. They thought it was quite funny as I could hear them laughing loudly as they reversed back out and parked up a couple of rows away.

When the woman driver of the damaged vehicle returned to her car I told her what had happened and gave a discription of the soldiers who were easy to locate anyway as 2 of them including the driver were dressed in combats.

Anyway 5 mins later I noticed she had found him and they went to the cashpoint, obviously for him to withdraw some cash, I think she only charged him £80 but looking at the damage I'd have wanted much more.

My wife last year clipped someones car in a Hereford carpark while shopping, but at least she had the decency to leave her details on a piece of paper under his wipers, he popped round next day after phoning to collect his £60 which he estimated he could get it fixed for, (Only very small scrape)
Now how many would have done that, in reality very few I suspect.

Tell me... if the role had been reversed and you had hit another vehicle would you really have stopped... be honest now!

Would be a interesting subject for a poll. How many on here would actually own up! ??
