Default No power on towbar electrics

    Hello everybody,

    I recently bought a second hand towbar. it's a 7-pins electrics.
the previous car was a 2006 facelift estate model . myself is driving with the 2004 pre-facelift estate. the towbar itself fits beautifull but i cannot get any power on the electrics . it's just plug and play at the back left side of the car. It also had the trailer module with it. After some searching i noticed there's a fuseplug no.13 20Amps . but also after plugging one in there no power yet.
Does anyone has some experience with this?
My dealer tells me it doesn't need tech2 with this system.

it does need tech2... to activate the power to the trailermodule.

    hey guys,

    No worries it's working.
The thing is the plug is recognizing if there's a trailer plugged in .
It's just not possible to search power with a multimeter or some sort (led controle also doesn't work)
No tech2 needed , just a buddy's trailer and it worked. he accually had a ligth fault and the dash immediatly told me , wierd and funny that it works this way lol

    12N or 12S , don't know the difference . we have a 7-pin or 13-pin here in belgium ;-)
thanks anyway guys for the fast replies.

Oh i'm glad everything is working fine now.
i prefere the 7-pin becuase i 'm not going to tow a caravan and otherwise i'll need an adapter.
my dealer wanted to sell new electrics to me for 85 euro so i'm very glad it works now . had the towbar with electrics for 100 euro (very cheap)
    lol
