    Default Tyres what size/ make

After 5 years of risking my life with the standard nct 5's 215 50 17 I think its time for a change.
I have read some of the other posts but would like some up to date info on the best tyres. Thinking of changing to 225 45 17 is there anything I should know ie do they have to be 91w or can they be anything else.
    Any help please.
I have a budget af around £100 per corner.

If the current tyres are 215/50R17 91W
Then you can opt for 225/45R17 91W

The Vectra is actually approved for lower load / speed ratings, but it costs about the same
Equally, higher load / speed can cost about the same too!

However, you can also opt for :
    225/45ZR17
    225/45R17 91Y
    225/45R17 94W XL
    225/45/R17 94Y XL

Avoid Dunlop Sport Maxx (all types), cheap and deadly in the wet!
My personal recommendation is the Good Year Eagle F1 GSD3, but this tyre is now discontinued
I am therefore currently using Good Year Eagle F1 Assymetric
Cost between £80 and £120 (depending on version and tyre only / fully fitted)

When I bought my Sri the garage fitted new boots on the front. they are Nexen 3000 and I must admit im really surprised as they are a good tyre - I used to fit P6000's on my S60 and they were ok'ish but these are much better and are a lot cheaper. In the local tyre depot i can get them for around £70 each but on this link they are even cheaper.

I guess you get what you pay but its so far so good (4000 miles of motorway and fast A road driving).

Although expensive i use Michelin Pilot Premacy in the 225 size. They have a good wear rate and are quiet
