Talk Talk came 23rd out of 28 in a customer satisfaction table for broadband from Which? Magazine. Not great eh?
Most of the top rated aren't that well known. The best major was Plus Net

i get free broadband from orange cause iv got my mobile with them been good for years but lately getting a lot of problems when playing online with my ps3 dns errors i think dont know if thats to do with orange
just checked my speed and its only 2mb that sounds low to me
have a look on quidco they have the same deals available elsewhere but give cashback too
I found samknows.com to be helpful in seeing who could even supply my broadband and what types and expected speeds etc.
In terms of cost its hard to beat SKY if your a full package subscriber already, likewise O2 or Orange if you have their mobile monthly contract.
Plusnet have been on the MSE emails for ages as the cheapest unlimited broadband monthly cost otherwise and cashback via quidco and the like sweetens it up, but can't be guaranteed, that said I have had over £300 paid from my quidco account. ATM its £28 for just the broadband and £38 for broadband and phone. Remember, if your contract is for 12 months, you can cancel and do someone else after that!
Bottom line for every happy subscriber their seems to be a complainer for most ISPs. I've never had much of a problem with Orange, speeds are almost always good and technically have never had any issues in 3 years.
Good luck diet and let us know who you end up with.
