    confused Engine feels flat

I have recently noticed that my engine seems somewhat dull and unresponsive. It seems slow on the pick up, if this makes sense. I have the 1.9 cdti 150.

Any suggestions as what the cause of this could be or what I should check / look for on the weekend when I give the car a once over?

    Cheers in advance,

    Andy

Clean the EGR and boost sensor. That should help you a little. If not, it might be the swirl flaps fault. Not sure how to check that...Someone with a 150 1.9 will surely help you

Sounds like the EGR, might be stuck open ! i think the egr closes as the rpm
increases, is your turbo still spooling up ?
They all suffer a bit of lag though !

Take the plastic engine cover off, and look toward the back where the manifold is.

As you look down there is a metal bar that goes accross with stoppers that match up to some holes. If there are any missing, or completely off centre, or jammed up thats where the problem lies.

It aint cheap either, bout £800 ntoes to fix

The turbo is still kicking in, but it seems less erm.. harsh when it does come in. before hand if i would boot it, then the turbo would kick in at 2000 revs and you could feel it kick in. now it still kicks in but not as harshly or at the same revs. sometimes it comes in slightly higher.

Bsically the turbo seems a little slower to come in.

    Any ideas?
