    Default Cars Party trick

I dont think ive asked this before but either way it still isnt fixed so either no I havent or no-one had any ideas when I did.

My partners car has an electrical fault of a different kind.

A little history first - Its a renault Clio and in Aug 07 a woman decided to rip the front bumper off whilst changing lanes. In the process she tore the wiring for fogs out. Anyway, the insurance paid up and Holdcrofts body centre had it in for a few weeks and we got it back after a few mishaps. We then had to take it back because the fogs werent working and they reported back that they had forgot to plug them in.
Now because this was in winter with early dark mornings and early dark nights we didnt notice this because the routine was to turn the lights on and then start the car.
When it turned lighter in the morning there was no need for the headlights anymore and she didnt turn them on this was when I saw that there was a problem.
It was initially brought to our attention because the headlights are always on when the engine is turned over whether on or not. We investigated further and discovered if you then turn the lights on the key can be removed and the engine keeps running until the lights are turned off.
Nothing else is affected. An auto electrician had it for a day and had no answer (luckily free).

    Any ideas?

Is there any way of tracing the short down?
