Default Security code on CD70 Navi

    Hi Guys,

Just picked up my new vectra today to replace my 2.2 52 plate Elegance.
    It's a 2.8 Elite, 57 plate and has the cd70 Navi audio.
I have looked and looked in the audio manaul but i can't see any mention of a Security code. Am i going mad? Surely it must need one?

I don't have the radio code and that doesn't bother me too much, i can probably get the code from VX as the car came direct from their fleet.

    Cheers

As said above...you should have a red cardboard pass...It will have a four digit code for your security number.

This 4 digit number is used by tech 2 for all 30-odd control modules / ecu's in your car.

I wouldn't worry too much about this as long as you don't get safe mode messages on your screen...depending where you got the car from, you could ask them to obtain a new pass....It should only cost them £15.

Alternatively, you could contact the previous owner (will be on the V5C) to see if they still have it in their docs at home / office.

Thanks for the replies, i thought i was going mad.

I'll contact Vauxhall and get the appropriate codes etc, i don't have any card or code's. The car came direct from Vauxhall.

    again, cheers
Oh, does that mean if i remove the unit, disconect the battery, i'll still need the code to reactivite the unit or will it "recognise" the unit?

    Cheers

The stereo will work upon reconnection of the battery.

If it's removed from your car then it won't work in anyone else's unless it's first been divorved from your car then married up to the next car.
