    Default Map issue?

    Right.

The car seems to have developed a flat spot right where the peak torque used to be.

With the map on (sport button) When you plant your foot it starts puling then you get the peak of the surge about 2,800-3,000 RPM. As mapped owners will know, it keeps pulling as normal untill 4,500-5,00 RPM. Problem is right at the peak (2,800-3,000) there is a little "bobble" or hesitation in the delivery. It just feels as though the car is holding back at this peak point, then it caries on as normal.

Everything has been fine until this week.

It got me thinking, it might be a misfire under stain. To test this i went out, got up to say 25mph and put it into 6th and planted my foot. This put the engine under alot of strain, so a misfire should show itsself, however it was as smooth as silk everytime. Hmm, maybe not a usual misfire then.

Its not the tyres spinning either as no TC light flash.

Trouble is it DOES NOT DO THIS with the map off, only with the map on.

So im thinking its an issue with the map, but this is only a recent thing. How could it change to develop a flatspot or could it be somehting else?

Sorry for the long post, but i would like to hear your guys thoughts.

Might be a long shot but the increase in BHP with the map on could be exposing a slight weakness in a sensor or an injector thats otherwise ok under normal operation, I had this happen on one of my previous car's (3dr cossie) and it turned out to be combination of a dodgy injector and a slightly dirty earth connection..
