Default Airbag Light due to seat occupancy detection

I have recently changed my interior to leather from a vectra elite. I did all the right things as to not set my airbag light come on...but it did anyway. Now I have an op-com reader/reseter and it resets the light but comes back within a few seconds with a fault with the S.O.D. ( seat occupancy detection ) it says p0099. I think these seats may have seat occupancy detection fitted but was wondering if there was a simple way to either disconnect it or bypass it using either op-com or tech2. any help welcome as its getting on my nerves now.

careful as there maybe an airbag connection there too. The S.O.D - i like it - can be deactivated on tech 2
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Priceless advice when we're talking about connections that could involve air bags/pre-tensioners!

As BS said, you should be able to disable the Seat Occupancy if the light keeps coming on - although if the new seats have the SO feature but the car doesn't then I would have thought it would simply have not done anything - if you see what I mean.

right...went to the dealers today with my problem and said maybe tech2 could solve it. he quoted £80 an hour. so instead I went around the back to the garage department and got the young lad to kindly come and take a look free of charge. he plugged the machine in and it said B0099-00 mismatch configuration (SOD) seat occupancy detection. I already knew this and asked him to reset it if possible and he told me the ECU was locked and could not be re-programed and the only other alternative was to buy a new ECU and have it programed again. Now all this because of seat occupancy detection. Now i'm thinking could someone be kind enough to take a picture of their plug on an LS under the seat and see if maybe I have an extra wire in there that I could remove so it no longer looks for occupants.
