Default Which Upgrade is the best for the CDTi????

    Hi all,
I have just been given the go ahead to upgrade my Vectra C 1.9 CDTi 150 from the missus. I have been watching the threads and annoying people with my constant questions for the past few months, but as advances have been made, I know request that you tell me which is the best route to go down.
My motor is completely bog standard but I am going to fit an induction kit so want an upgrade that will get the best from it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers folks
    Kryton

A remap for defo for power increase. Diagnostix are doing their own remaps now. New service. Keep an eye out for this one. Also there are tuning boxs available which sit in line with the fuel rail. These also give a power increase but remap of ECU is healthier. Plenty of people will chip in now with other suggestions.

Which is best for £ for performance? I am not after the highest BHP or Torque but the best overall performance. I want my car to still look bog standard as there is little point putting flash wheels and kits on. ( A friend did this and his insurance failed to pay out after an accident, even thou he had informed them).
My route to work has very few overtaking opportunities and I need that extra little kick to be able to pass safely. I aint bothered about leaving people in my rear view mirror, although I had great satisfaction at leaving a new MR2 frustrated at not being able to keep up with me on the A1 this morning. (Must of really peed her off to see a diesel dissappear into the distance, and she was trying to stay with me).
    Any help is much appreciated.
DIAGNOSTIX are looking favourite if they still offer discount to us and will be calling them next week if I am not tempted elsewhere.

Don't fit an induction kit! Fit a K&N panel filter and do the air box mod.

There are several routes you can go down for tuning. CR1, CR2, Tunit, Powerclick in various colours or remap. The tuning boxes will all give around 190+ bhp. A remap will give approx 200 bhp.

£ for £ the tuning box is the cheapest for the power gain. £150 to get to 190bhp with 300lb/ft torque is bl00dy cheap!

Chher Caterman but do you have any comparisons? Diagnostix seem to be very popular but I have just downloaded an PDF file that shows a good power and torque curve from VXR racing. (It is for the Astra 1.9CDTi but presume it is the same engine as the Veccy).
I just dont want to spend £200 then find out that I should of researched more.

CR1 is a analogue unit. CR2 is a digital unit, meaning its a bit more intelligent in the way it works. ie, its not supposed to give ya full power on a cold engine, only once it warms up. or so they say.

Does that mean the the CR2 is more powerful or do they both give the same output?

All tuning boxes will give around the same output, the CR2 is supposed to be slightly better??? The CR3 will be basically a remap in a tuning box plug n play form. It will not be out for a while yet and will be tuned into each car individually.
