split hose

I have a split hose onthe right hand side of the engine on my 2.2dti vectra,it is about 3inch wide and goes down to the bottom rhs at the front of engine bay ive been quoted 140 quid for a new one is this right???and does anyone know what it is??

its not the turbo pipe is it mate has the car lost any power

pipe comes from upper rhs of egr valve which is currently being replaced,hence the need to find a new pipe cheap

there should be a part number on the pipe get me that and ill tell u hom much it should be or ask the garage doin it for the part number

Common problem on the 2.2. I had the same on my Saab.

Try speaking to a Saab dealer or Andrew Page. Alternatively do what i did and put some tape on it. I seem to remember there are three pipes in total that split. All of mine were taped by the end. I paid £80 to replace the first one then gave up.

Covered best part of 100K with tape and no problems. Depending on which hose it is just keep an eye on your oil level. Though given the 2.2 drinks oil you will be doing this anyway.

Also keep an eye on the buldog clips taht hold these on. They can work loose.
