Sounds like snake oil to me. I'll be fitting the new, modified EGR at the weekend hopefully. Other than that, cleaning by the existing unit by hand works really well and I can't see how some sort of spray would achieve anything like the same results. As fas as I can tell, the issue is actually due to corrosion of the solenoid actuator rahter than just simple coking up though I've heard it's the coking up which causes back-pressure to force contaminants into the solenoid housing in turn causing the corrosion so if the spray can sort that out, perhaps it would at least act as a preventative rather than cure.
What would be nice would be Vauxhall removing all doubt and telling us what the issue is and how to remedy it. Further, they could fix the problem as part of the standard service. It's a manufacturing fault as far as I'm concerned and something that should really be the subject of a recall.

I used some Wynns EGR3 on my 85k mile 2.2 DTi. It needed 2 cans as it had never been done before, but I would think that one can will do for a car with lower miles.

It definitely works because I had a look inside the manifold and EGR afterwards to check - it dissolves the soot in the inlet manifold and this is then sucked into the engine and burned up - you have to hold the revs at 2.5k while you spray it in. Obviously, it's not as good as taking everything to bits and scrubbing them - but it it a lot easier.

As stated above though, it won't solve the EGR corrosion problems on the CDTi engines, just the soot build-up.

It's really easy to take the air pipe off the inlet manifold of of the DTi engines - I'm not sure about the CDTi's though.

I'm really interested, as I've seen how caked up the inlet manifold is on my Vectra, from when I cleaned the EGR and Boost sensor. Would be good if this could remove some of the crap from inside the manifold.

Wynn's class it as a 'professional' product so you will need to get it online or from a local motor factor - you can't buy it 'retail'.
