    Default cambelt 3.2 v6

    has the 3.2 v6 got cambelt or chain? i was sure its got a belt, and needs changing at around 60k, but called 8 garages for a quote, since vauxhall in aylesbury gone bust, and all of them told me its got a chain?

    its a belt m8 n a nice job,,,did mine last month,u can get up2 80thou,but 60thou is probally a wise idea,oh do water pump at same time

    Just had them done.
    Its deffo a belt.
    Got a deal localy and paid 250 all in. got my own water pump gen vaux for a snip at 50 quid.

    cheers for that, i knew it was a belt, but they all said their book says its got a chain...need to find someone else then, cheers for confirming that

    A couple of options for you:

    1) VX Burnham Garage in Wycombe - not cheap, c£400 inc the water pump on my GSi but they did a good job and gave me all the old bits back without asking.

    2) There's a MOT place in Wycombe that does nothing but MOT's. However, the owner come mechanic, spent many years as a VX technician in West London. When I took my GSi for its MOT, he just happened to mention that if I needed any complicated work doing, he'd be more than happy to price it. If you want his details, send me a PM.

    its recommended that the belt is changed at around 40k rather than the 80k in the book

    That is correct VX changed their minds and reduced it to 40K.
