    Default headlights alignment?

    Hello,

I have just replaced the standard H7s with the Philips X-Treme Power +80%. The trouble is that the dipped beam now is a lot worse than before!! It is so dark in front of me that I can't even exceed 40 miles on a dark country road without using the main beam.

    What went wrong?

    Can anybody help please!!!

    Cheers

    Panos

Make sure they are seated correctly in the holder/clip in the light unit. I have managed to put the bulb in on an angle before that effects the beam direction.

OK, but how can I be sure they are seated correctly?

Undo the metal clip that holds the bulb in, give the buld a twist and it should "lock" in so it won't turn. If it turns then its not seated correctly.

    Hope thats clear

mine were exactly the same and the HID bulbs were seated correctly. I had to adjust the beam height with an allen key. If you want to do it properly either pay or follow ste's advise and equation here -

I never got round to doing it this way and did it through guess work and taking it for a drive along a country lane a few times til I was happy. I think they are too high at the moment but never been flashed.
No idea why mine dropped but it was scary driving back from Manc airport at 2am. I had to put main beam on.

    Many thanks JSYSH466Y,

indeed, I ve checked them this morning and they are seated correctly. Thankfully the day is long so I have a few more days to either do it myself or go to a VX dealer!

    many thanks for the link,

    cheers
