Default Cleaning Boost Sensor, 1.9CDTi ????

I read a post recently that suggested cleaning the boost sensor as well as the EGR valve on a 1.9 CDTi engine.
Can someone tell me what cleaning this boost sensor would actually achieve. I have only recently cleaned the EGR valve and had a new inlet manifold fitted, however I didn't clean the boost sensor.
Will I notice any difference in performance?
    Thanks

Depends on how dirty the boost sensor is really

I cleaned mine up and it just seemed to pick up easier when you put your foot down. It's really easy to do, well worth it mate

Am I likely to get the dreaded yellow spanner on the dash after cleaning the sensor?

Don't see why you should mate. I did mine the other week (the same time I changed my EGR valve) and it's fine.

Just called my VX dealer for a price on a new boost sensor and they've quoted me £44.70.

I'll just stick to cleaning my one and won't be too heavy handed with it.

.... yeah pull them old threads back up.

I'm getting the dreaded yellow spanner and limp mode.. (quite bad) and from my crappie reader its saying a P1125 error. After a bit of searching it seems it might be this sensor.

Has anyone got a picture of where it's located on a 1.9 cdti so I can give it a clean to see if this fix's my problem. I recently did my EGR valve thing which had a load of coke in it.. would this of caused this other sensor to go maybe ?

    anyway many thanks,

    Steve
