confused permanent live to cig lighters

Hi guy's first post so be gentle with me.
Is there any way to make a permanent live to cig lighters as I have to use my laptop in the car and I do not like to leave my ignition on without the engine running.
I am sure it is just a matter of rewiring the fuse but I would appreciate some ideas on this. Thanks

You'll probably find that it automatically shuts off after approx 20 mins. There is mention of it somewhere in the handbook.

You could just run a live feed from the battery red terminal) and a chassis ground to the cigar socket...just disconnect the existing plug and tape it out of the way.

Don't forget to put an in-line fuse in the live feed rated at 15 amps (blue fuse) I think

    Simples!!!

if you do this, mamke sure that you put the fuse as close to the battery as you can. That way, the fuse will blow if you trap the wire somewhere and it cuts through, otherwise your liable to set the cable and thus the car on fire!
