Is there any need to remove the calipers to paint them? Thinking of doing this myself.

ideally leave them overnight...I just put my wheels back on while the caslipers dried....once dried removed wheels again and added the decals..

You can remove them, if you're into that kind of thing, but I think most here that have painted them didn't bother. It helps to be sure what you want to paint and what you don't, ie. the bits of pad that you can see, the hoses, etc.

It depends on the paint used & drying conditions. I used Smoothrite & ignored what it said on the tin and did two/three coats within 90 minutes or so with no problems.

You can put the wheels on as soon as you're finished painting, just be careful you don't catch the callipers or you'll have to touch them up. I probably wouldn't use the car until the paint has dried, just so you don't get any brake dust sticking to the paint and spoiling the finish.

buy some engine laquer, it's quick drying and about £5.00 a tin, the colour lasts longer than the hammerite...
