    Default Do i need XL tyres ?

    Just looked at my tyres front 2 are XL and rear 2 are normal ones, ive found some Khumo KU31 for £49 each delivered but they are not XL rated, manual dosent give anything away either, its a SXI 1.9 CRTI

    Look at the load number eg:91 and as long as the ones your buying match the current ones you'l be fine.

    Yeah get rid of the XL there is no need for them on your car my friend.

    Thanks folks, what a load of shysters thery are at that place, says 550 on stock gave them a ring to double check and they dont sell they anymore !

    Does it matter if i did fit XLtryes all round ? would it affect performance

    if you can get a tyre at a good price it doesn't matter if they are XL or not, as i said as long as the load number is correct you'll be fine even if they are not XL.
    All XL tyres are, are reinforced ones they have no effect on performance.

    The XL's have a stiffer side wall and can feel a bit harsher on the ride. My Falken XL's have a nice looking square wall, compared to the rounder, bulgy look of my NCT5's, especially at the bottom.

    XL tyres do not have stiffer sidewalls, they are a different construction method using three layers instead of four in most cases (225/45R17)
