    Default Aerosol spray - Finish

Hi hope someone can help. I have colour coded my front grill (what an epic job) with spray from the dealers (come in a two pack, one metallic & one lacquer) before I put it back on the car it looked fine (to me anyway) but now its on although the colour (silver lightning) is a match - as you would expect - it does look "dull" compared to the bonnet/bumper.
now I know I will never get a finish like those, but what type of finish should i expect ? might put some pics up later, perhaps someone who has done this can tell me if they got a "shine" ?

How many coats of lacquer did you apply, you should be putting about 3-5 coats on. On final coat when you spray it needs to look wet, build up the layers tho otherwise you will have runs. if it doesnt look wet you will have a dull finish. The cans from the dealers are crap, the lacquer one doesnt seem to have enough power in them the spray decent, I went out and bought a different laquer to do my bits. HTH

U-POL brand is the best IMO.

great, i *think* I might have seen that in halfords, will pop in later today & have a nosey, then wait for the good weather to return! regarding the lacquer, I presume there no need to "flatten/sand" between the coats ?, just a final light polish ?

I would, as you need to 'key' it only with 1200 or above, or I know somde professinals who would lightly go over with a green scouring pad, just to make a key.
