I have a 56,Had an 05 before that,very very good engine,but i recommend that you keep the fuel system very clean with regular bottles of additive,say once every 6 weeks,and only run on V POWER,or at worst tesco 99 ron. Simply because some of the 2.2s can have a sensitive fuel system,EGRs & fuel pumps can sometimes be a problem.That said over the two motors i've never had the fuel pump problem,just the swirl valve in the O5.And thats over 53k of driving over the two motors.But as you can see i am particular with what i use to fuel up the car. Also put in a nice BMC air filter,and swap over the air intake with the one used in a 3.2,and you'll be very happy indeed

Although i did change the fuel filter a few weeks back and was surprised to see the colour of the fuel left in there, so as said above, keep the system clean

Great Engine mate had mine for a while now runs smooth as anything no problems what so ever but like whats said above the fuel system can be a **** just look after it

Great engine, and reasonably powerfull. As others have said, it is a smooth lump.

i have a 2.2 direct.. i have all problems possible with that engine.. but wont change thou.
