last time i had to overcome a deadlock i had to drill the lock to bits then get busy with jemmys it ruined the door and the lock striker pin but a used door with its lock is usually less than £100 and labour to release it could mount into the hundreds

I did hear once that the AA know how to defeat the deadlocking.....something about getting at the wiring under the front wing or something like that.

It is very, very easy to overcome the deadlock... Simply remove the door card, locate the deadlock solenoid and wire it to 12v. And DA-DA it opens...
The only thing is you have to open the door to remove the door card!
    Back to square one...

Accesing the front wing will get you access to the wiring to the ECU in the door. But not let you open the door via the wiring.

When I worked at a car garage we sometimes had this probelm, we just ripped the door card off and fix the problem, then order a new door car as it's cheaper. You should be able to open the door easy enough once the door card is off.

Don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but wouldn't it be better to answer questions like this by PM once precautions had been taken over the use of the answer?? I'm not for a second suggesting that vxr is up to anything dodgy, but any unscrupulous guest now knows how to get the deadlocks undone for the price of a secondhand doorcard!
