    thanks for moving it,
Yeh i was going to go for the remap but i relised that i couldnt afford the cost at the mo, and the eco3 has always been getting good reviews. and the cost was much lower and with a kid on the way its the more cost effective way.

if it dosent perform then at least i know theirs an under lying issue and i will either return it or sell it!

just a quick update for you guys.

had the eco fitted and put it to setting A as most recomended on here, filled the car to the brim (read the other thread about my misfueling) with shell fuel but 12 litres was petrol, anyway with 4 people including myself and a boot full of camping stuff including food, loads of clothes tents etc the wheels where at the arches (looked great ) reset the miles etc and headed for isle of skye (portree) from east kilbride, driving at 60mph most of the way dropping to 50 for about 30/40 miles and a few blasts of flooring it i had the fuel gauge sitting at the first red line after the half way mark nearer the full end upon arrival,

the computer showed an average of 53mph using 4.2gallons at 53mpg ( i know this mis reads with the box ) im trying to decide if this is good or not but the box performed well, i did notice some smoke upon booting it though but not loads and not particularly dark and i had 2 bottles of redex cleaner in the tank aswell.

so what do you guys think?

The box will overread by quite a bit, usually around 10+mpg.

Thats around 175 miles ish by my reckoning.... so if you did the same again and round it up to about 400 miles - (working of 60 litres (about 13.5 gallons) - so thats about when the red light comes on) you will have got about 30mpg.

53mpg over a full tank (I know it never happens, but just to show you) would be about 715 miles which some people have achieved.

The miles you do, and the juice you use doesn't lie - trip computers do though.

I was shocked when I had a Caterman on mine - hence now getting a remap.
